``This new facility brings together our administration, marketing, engineering, information technologies and service departments for significant increases in operational efficiency,'' said Wendelin Scharbach, Managing Director of FARO Europe, a wholly-owned subsidiary of FARO. ``With our headquarters now located in Stuttgart, we will be closer to some of our key customers, including DaimlerChrysler and Audi.'' The new headquarters includes a service facility for repair and certification of hardware products as well as telephone support. Previously, recertification and repairs of the company's FaroArmŪ product were completed only at FARO's worldwide headquarters and manufacturing center in Florida. ``This is a major benefit to our European customers,'' said Sharbach. ``We also expect it to result in cost savings both to FARO and its customers, especially in transatlantic shipping.''
