ARC Advisory Group Launches Request for Quote (RFQ) Service

ARC's RFQ Service, which is now available to manufacturers and logistics companies, targets e-procurement of plant automation solutions, including automation hardware and software for field devices and sensors up through production management systems.

Although called an "RFQ Service," it also provides all the support services necessary to develop a scope of work, on-line bidding, and even the selection of the preferred supplier.

"We see the RFQ Service as a way of helping our clients to execute a strategy that increases plant utilization and lowers the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)," according to Dave Woll, the Vice President of Consulting Services.

"The growth of on-line e-procurement for plant solutions is creating a demand for standard RFQs that take advantage of Internet marketplaces and auctioning technologies.
