APRIL 2001 PRODUCT NEWS

  • Trimos, the long time leader in dimensional length measuring machines, has developed the ultimate calibration tool in its new LabConcept universal gage measurement system.
  • Rice Lake Weighing Systems introduces MASSTAR stainless steel calibration weights for laboratory balance and industrial scale use. MASSTAR weights are specially treated during the manufacturing process to reduce both the magnetic field strength and magnetic susceptibility of the weights. The higher the magnetic susceptibility of a weight, the more likely it is to become magnetized and cause inconsistent weight measurements. MASSTAR weights are specifically designed to reduce the magnetic susceptibility of the weights in order to gain more accurate calibrations.
  • The LH-600B linear height gage from Mitutoyo America Corporation uses a more powerful processor to enhance its capability. Said to offer the best data processing in its class, the gage can capture and process up to 60,000 measurement points using seven different probes. The device operates in six languages.
  • If you're constantly being asked to calibrate more and more with less and less, Fluke's 9100 Calibration System is the answer you've been waiting for. Its exceptional performance in both the analog and digital domain allows it to calibrate an extremely wide range of test and measurement equipment - quickly, efficiently and to ISO 9000 requirements. For the 9100, calibrating everything from handheld digital multimeters to high performance digital-storage oscilloscopes is all part of a day's work. Take advantage of the Model 9100's unique procedure mode, which guides operators step-by-step through the entire calibration process, and you'll not only calibrate more with less - you'll do it faster.
  • Interface, Inc.'s Gold Standard Calibration System is an automated, high accuracy, high resolution strain gage, bridge measurement and calibration system that is not only versatile but also easy to use. They system includes all of the necessary hardware and software to perform precision calibrations in a fraction of the time it takes with conventional, digital indicator or manual proving ring measurement and calibration systems. System hardware consists of a family of high resolution, PC AT bus compatible, plug-in circuit cards that provide excitation, signal conditioning, analog to digital conversion and logic circuitry.
  • The Matrix Automated Vision if a full-featured machine vision measuring system for measuring large parts. Complete with machine vision measuring software, intelligent zoom lens and motorized stage, the Matrix handles measuring large parts with ease. Available in three sizes: 24"x18", 36"x24", and 48"x36"
  • The Star Pressure Plus Calibrator from 3D Instruments is a rugged, portable digital pressure calibrator from 3D Instruments. This multi-functional instrument incorporates "state of the art" digital pressure and electrical measurement technologies.
  • Thunder Scientific has added a new Benchtop Model 2500ST (a bigger Benchtop). The new test chamber in this model has been increased to 15" x 15" x 12" (381 mm x 381 mm x 305 mm) which offers you more room for your instruments. Accuracy and performance specifications are the same as the Model 2500.
  • Rotronic offers a comprehensive line of instruments for the measurement of relative humidity, dew point, water activity and other humidity parameters. Because temperature is critical to the proper measurement and interpretation of humidity, most of our instruments combine the measurement of temperature with that of humidity.
  • Whether you currently have a Volt maintenance system or are considering getting one, the 7000 has something to offer you. Although direct Voltage is one of the fundamental measurement parameters in electrical metrology, no one has previously taken a fully integrated approach to the problem of Volt maintenance. Within a compact bench or rack mount unit, the Fluke 7000 Volt Maintenance System combines multiple Voltage reference modules, high integrity hardware averaging, and advanced scanning and measurement technology.
  • Tescina introduces a stainless steel temperature probe for Palm handhelds. Using a standard thermistor from Dallas Semiconductor, our stainless steel probe offers three advantages over standard thermocouple devices. It is more accurate, has greater resolution, and is more robust than thermocouples. At $199, including the stainless steel probe, the thermistor offers the lowest price of any Palm based temperature data collection system.
  • Leveraging its purchasing power as a leading integrated supplier of gas detection products, Thermo GasTech offers low-cost gases for calibrating all brands of portable and fixed gas detection instruments. The company is offering gases or equivalents to calibrate 24 different sensors.
  • The new 656 Series of stainless steel industrial pressure gauges from AMETEK U.S. Gauge were developed for the corrosive environments found in the chemical, petrochemical, refining, power, marine, food, and pharmaceutical processing industries. The 656 Series gauges are available in both 63- and 100-mm sizes.
  • MC5 is the first of its kind documenting modular ALL-IN-ONE multifunction calibrator. Within its compact and ergonomic case, MC5 provides calibration capability for pressure, temperature, electrical and frequency signals (including pulses). Therefore, MC5 offers calibration capability for virtually all types of process and other instruments.
  • The UPC5000 portable pressure calibration standard from Condec includes a self-contained nitrogen cylinder, rechargeable battery and all controls, hoses and connections required for rapid on-site calibration. Each unit is equipped with a precision vernier that provides infinite control to secure highly accurate readings. Three independent selectable ranges provide accuracy within 0.05% up to 2000 psi. Readings appear on a large digital LED or optional LCD display, eliminating parallax, interpolation and operator error. A self-relieving regulator offers increased protection by eliminating damage and costly repairs due to inadvertent pressure overshooting.
  • TestMart, the leading online marketplace in the test and measurement industry, introduced the Internet's only comprehensive original manufacturer catalog library. The library, available exclusively on the company's Web site, www.testmart.com, gives engineers fast, direct, and unprecedented access to a wealth of specifications, product histories, and other previously unavailable information. Such data is vital to companies managing and servicing equipment assets acquired in mergers, or to engineers maintaining equipment for which documentation is lost or not readily available.
