MAY 2001 PRODUCT NEWS

  • There are many ways to form an ice mantle within a triple point of water cell. Using dry-ice chips, liquid nitrogen, and copper cooling rods are all common methods. None of these, however, offers the same convenience as Hart's Model 2031 Immersion Freezer.
  • Weighing less than one pound, the hand-held Condec 3000 pressure calibrator is easy to carry and operates for more than 90 hours on one 9V battery. This intrinsically safe unit is compatible with most liquids and gases, and is perfect for use with the Source 3000 portable pressure source. Ensuring reliable, long-lasting performance, the Condec 3000 features an all-aluminum case, sealed membrane keypad, and stainless steel internal pressure sensors.
  • MKS Instruments, Inc., a leading supplier of process control products for the semiconductor and thin-film industries, announced the availability of the Tru-Flo(TM) Mass Flow Verifier, a compact device that verifies mass flow controller (MFC) accuracy on semiconductor process tools. The Tru-Flo is installed directly on the process tool and measures flow to within +/-1% of Reading.
  • The 750II Series controller from Myron, has simple ranging capabilities, single setpoint alarm with 10 A relay, solid state output, adjustable hysteresis, and selectable 115/230 VAC input voltage. Options include another alarm control relay, 4-20 mA output, temperature module, and piezo alarm.
  • The Thermo Electric thermocouple CAL PALŪ II simulator/indicator is engineered with the technician in mind. It is a powerful tool that will fit in your pocket and rugged enough for the tool box. In the input mode, it can accept signals from a thermocouple sensor and directly indicate a reference junction compensated temperature reading. In the output mode, it can simulate the compensated mV output generated by a thermocouple at the temperature selected and indicated on the integral display.
  • Accurate temperature measurements are routinely required in today's dissolution laboratory. Distek's new TempChek is ideally suited for this purpose. The high resolution (+/-0.01 Degrees Celsius), accuracy (+/-0.02 Degrees Celsius) and portability make this precision instrument useful for general purpose measurements or as a NIST-traceable reference thermometer.
  • Tel-Tru Manufacturing Company introduces the Tel-Fast 2 a low-cost, non-contact, infrared thermometer that enables foodservice professionals to monitor external food temperatures. Tel-Tru's Tel-Fast 2 is a non-contact thermometer that allows surface temperature measurement without touching the item being checked. Tel-Fast 2 is a hand-held, battery-operated sensor that safely and accurately measures temperature using non-contact infrared technology.
  • Druck's latest developments in Resonant Silicon Pressure Technology (RPT) have resulted in the introduction of a cost-effective, high accuracy pressure transducer designed specifically for applications requiring precise and stable measurements of barometric pressure.
  • Laboratory Testing Inc.'s (LTI) new brochure and literature sheets describe the company's calibration, materials testing, machining and materials-engineering services. Also covered are the company's accreditations and quality program.
  • Hoffer Flow Controls, Inc. introduces "new" hybrid ceramic ball bearings into their turbine flowmeter design. The traditional bearing types for clear liquid and gas flow measurement in a turbine flow meter include ball bearings, journal, and jewel. Journal and jewel bearing types provide excellent durability under most industrial applications. However, their trade-off is a loss in meter performance at the low end of the meter's rated capacity.
  • Toledo Transducers, Inc. offers an A2LA accredited load cell calibration laboratory. It provides load cell calibrations that meet ISO 9001 and 9002 requirements. The laboratory has a two million pound testing machine, which allows the company to calibrate load cells from one to 2500 lbs tension and one to 2,000,000 lbs compression. The laboratory can calibrate all load cells manufactured by Todedo Transducers, as well as, most load cells from other manufacturers.
  • Mahr Federal announces the first significant merging of Mahr and the former Federal Products lines with the MarForm MMQ 6100 form measuring instrument. This new low-cost form tester is an optimal combination of features found in Mahr's Formtester MMQ 10 and the Federal Formscan 6100 form measurement systems. The system is designed to easily check roundness, circular flatness, concentricity, perpendicularity, parallelism and coaxiality. The centering and tilting table of the MMQ 6100 has fine and course adjustments allowing for rapid and precise manual workpiece alignment. Formscan software leads operators through all the steps for setup and form measurements that often can be completed in 3-5 minutes.
