JANUARY 2003 PRODUCT NEWS

  • Edmunds Gages has recently introduced new vision gaging systems that are flexible for applications requiring precise dimensional inspection at high production speeds. Conventional gaging works for speeds of 500 to 1000 parts per hour, but when speed requirements are closer to 10,000 per hour, vision gaging is the option of choice.
  • The Isotech Model TTI-7 is a "True Temperature Indicator", this means individual calibrated sensors can have their calibration values programmed into the TTI. The instrument then digitally 'calibrates' to suit the probe and the TTI shows the corrected value accordingly.
  • Four short courses coming up from Equipment-Reliability Institute:
    1. Fundamentals of Vibration and Shock
    2. Optimizing HALT, ESS and HASS of Electronic Circuit Cards
    3. Contaminants and Moisture can Disrupt your Electronics
    4. Thermal and Random Vibration Stressing for HALT, ESS, HASS and COTS Testing
  • Scott Medical Products offers high quality calibration gases for biological incubation atmospheres & environmental calibration monitors.
  • Keep up to date on the latest in measurement applications, new products, training, events and seminars by signing up for Agilent's Measurement Solutions e-mail newsletter.
  • The new DPMS-PM from AMETEK Power Instruments has been nicknamed the "All-Inclusive" Power Meter because the single unit can be used for many applications. The versatile, multi-function digital power meter connects to any circuit type (2,2 ½, or 3 element circuit), and its universal power supply supports a wide range of AC and DC voltages.
  • Eastern Scientific Products (ESP) emphasizes the need to support humidity/temperature instrumentation. ESP offers a line of systems for precise, accurate calibration of RH probes, recorders with remote probes, portable data loggers and hand-held instruments. When used in the laboratory the Vaportron systems provide traceability to NIST references or NIST.
  • The National Institute of Standards and Technology is sponsoring a Short Course on Temperature Measurement by Radiation Thermometry June 2-6, 2003. The course is being held by the Optical Technology Division in Building 222, Room A358.
  • The Automation, Systems, and Instrumentation Dictionary, fourth edition, has been completely revised and expanded to reflect the latest trends in industrial instrumentation and automation.
  • Agilent Clock Counts Down -- Precisely -- to 2003. Those who want to know precisely when 2002 ends and 2003 begins should set their watches by the Agilent 5071A Primary Frequency Standard, the world's most accurate commercially available clock. This clock is so accurate it only loses or gains one second every 162,000 years.
