  • GE Druck announced the release of a new generation of handheld test tools. The DPI 800 Series provides a complete range of affordable process test and calibration solutions in a single/dual function handheld instrument. The DPI 800/802 pressure indicator and calibrator feature the new IDOS (Intelligent Digital Output Sensor) technology with ranges from 10 inH2O to 10,000 psi with enhanced accuracy to 0.01% of full scale.
  • The Model LK Digital Force Indicator from DCT Instruments/Sensotec, Inc. can be deployed in virtually any remote location that requires force measurement calibrations in tension or compression of up to 10,000 lbs.
  • The January 2004 Mass Metrology Course is one of an ongoing series of courses presented by Canada's NRC Institute for National Measurement Standards (INMS) concerning the measurement of basic physical quantities. This extraordinary course has been organized as requested by some Canadian organizations (private and governmental).
  • The K 800 calibration unit for strain gage quarter bridges launched by HBM can calibrate eight channels simultaneously. The device is particularly useful for multi-channel measuring amplifiers, such as HBM’s MGCplus, that must be calibrated regularly to ensure accuracy.
  • Fluke Corporation announces two significant options on the Fluke 6100A Electrical Power Standard for the calibration and verification of instruments used to measure energy. The 6100A energy-counting option and the 80 amp option open the instrument to a broader range of power measurement and calibration applications.
  • Pinpoint Laser Systems is introducing the MG-2000, a new and improved flatness measuring and alignment kit. Machine beds, rollers, web assemblies, X- stages, and mechanical slides can be precisely checked to 0.0005 inch for flatness and adjusted with this new Pinpoint product. The use of a narrowly focused laser beam and new digital receiver technology allows measurements to be made in industrial environments over distances of 80 feet or more.
  • Hart Scientific announces the DewK, a new digital temperature and humidity logger for ultra-accurate recording of environmental conditions in critical locations such as calibration and research labs, pharmaceutical and chemical storage areas, and many medical environments.
  • Excel Partnership, Inc. an SAI Global company has scheduled a number of training dates for their Understanding and Implementing ISO/IEC 17025 course. This course provides fully up to date information on the requirements of the Guide and how to establish and implement a formal laboratory management system.
  • Endecotts, one of the oldest and most respected sieve manufacturers, has teamed up with Whitehouse Scientific to produce sieve calibration standards.
  • Precise Time and Frequency Inc. announced the availability of the ptf 3201A, a low-cost GPS receiver. The unit was at the ITC/USA Conference held in Las Vegas.
