1088 Digital Indicator from Mahr Federal Provides Color Tolerance Display
Mahr Federal is putting a colorful face on gaging with
its new MarCator 1088 Digital Indicator. The gage features at-a-glance
tolerance monitoring with a large LCD display that appears green or
red to reflect in- or out-of-tolerance conditions. Numerical tolerance
ranges can be easily entered while the gage displays measured values.
An analog display with a 4 mm pointer also assists visual recognition.

Pipetting Expedition Links Dry Heat to 35 Percent Error in Liquid Handling
At
Death Valley for Mission #3 of the Extreme Pipetting Expedition, ARTEL
found that pipettes under-deliver by up to 35 percent in dry and hot
environments. While volume delivery errors were partially reduced by
pre-wetting pipette tips, under-delivery still persisted, and the pipettes
were found to operate out of specification in most instances. More
